Organic Baby Clothing

Today the trend is definitely to go green.  Everything from cleaning products to organic food and even organic clothes are becoming increasingly popular.  So what is organic baby clothes and should you buy them?

Organic baby clothes are clothing made from organic cotton, silk, hemp or wool.  When these products are being farmed they are not sprayed with the pesticides, fungicides, or any other chemicals that are harmful to our environment, water or air.  Which means they are healthier for us and our planet.

Organic baby clothing tend to be very soft and are ideal for your new baby’s sensitive skin.  I have used organic baby clothes for my youngest two children.  My second child had severe eczema, and the organic cotton was much less irritating for his skin.

As time goes on, it is getting easier and easier to find organic clothing, and there are many more choices in styles and patterns.  You can get sleepers, bibs and whole outfits these days.  You can find many online retailers that sell organic baby clothing and you can even get it in larger baby chains such as Babies R Us.  The one downside to organic baby clothing is it is pricier compared to its non-organic counterparts.  I would suggest if you do have a baby with extremely sensitive skin that you try to use organic baby clothing whenever possible.  If your baby is not so sensitive and you do not want to spend the extra money, I do not see anything wrong with skipping the organic clothing section of the store.
