Crib Tent? I Say Skip It!
A crib tent is basically a large net that you attach to your crib to prevent your child from falling out of the crib or to keep pets from jumping into the crib. They are rather expensive and my opinion is do not waste your money.
As far as keeping pets out of the crib, I suggest keeping the bedroom door closed at all times. Both pediatricians and allergists will tell you that your pets should not be in your baby’s room anyway, as it is healthier for your baby.
My boys both stayed in their crib, they did not try to climb out and it was never an issue for us. My daughter on the other hand decided that she did not want to be in her crib and that was all there was to it. A couple of friends suggested that I try a crib tent since we were not ready to move my daughter out of the crib. By the second night my little girl figured out how to get that crib tent open and climbed out again. Another friend of mine told me the same thing happened with her little one.
Keeping your crib mattress at the lowest setting will prevent a younger baby from falling out of the crib. Once your baby is a toddler if he/she is determined to get out of the crib he/she is going to do it whether or not you have a crib tent. I had to return our tent and we moved our daughter to a toddler bed a whole year younger than we had to move her brothers.
Skip the crib tent and save your money for a baby thing that you really need.
Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
