Baby Wipes Warmer: Do Not Waste Your Money!

Today’s baby thing is the baby wipes warmer. Now, I will agree that this sounds like a real nice idea, but it is not worth the money.

Most babies do not like to get their diaper changed no matter what the temperature is. Using a warm wipe will not keep your baby from crying. Germs like warmth. In fact, warm moist air is a breading ground for germs and bacteria. You do not want to clean your baby’s private area with a wipe that potentially has bacteria or germs living on it.

I strongly suggest skipping the baby wipes warmer and spending money on a more important baby thing. If you really want to use a warm clothe on your baby when you change his/her diaper, use a soft paper towel and soak it with warm water. That is actually what many nurses suggest you do for the first few weeks anyway. It is gentler on their delicate skin than many wipes are. You really do not need a baby wipes warmer.
