Baby Bouncers, Do You Really Need One?

Baby Bouncers are one of the baby items that I do recommend you purchase.  They typically do make your life easier.  I have found that babies seem to prefer these to the baby swings.  I do not know if it is easier for them to see you, but they just seem to like them.  All three of my kids really loved their baby bouncers.  In fact at one point we had two.

Baby bouncers also known as baby bouncy seats, are seats that you place the baby in and as the baby moves the seat will slightly bounce up and down.  Just like with most baby things, they have a wide variety of options and accessories.  Most have a vibrating feature, and we had ours turned on often.  Some have some sort of toy bar on the front for the baby to watch, some have toys attached for the baby to grab and most play music or other soothing sounds.

My babies each napped in theirs as newborns and happily played in it as they started to grow.  This was the only way I could get a shower in the first couple of months.  I would have the baby in the bathroom with me, and I would take a really fast shower.  It is also the only way I could eat a meal without have a baby in my arms.   I would move our baby bouncer from room to room, so that I could still see the baby.  You should never leave the baby unattended in the bouncer, and you should always use the straps.  Some babies will attempt to roll very early and you do not want the baby to fall out.

Happy bouncing!
